The fixtures for the 2012/13 campaign were released at 9am this morning and Leeds fans all over the world can now start planning for the next year of their lives. Neil Warnock's men have been handed an incredibly tough start and will host newly relegated Wolves on the opening weekend of the season before making an early season trip to Blackpool for the clubs first away game. Other key fixtures include Watford away on the final day of the season and there is also an away trip on Boxing Day in the shape of Nottingham Forest where United enjoyed a 4-0 success last season.
Below are the fixtures for the first two months:
August 2012 | |
Leeds United v Wolverhampton Wanderers | Sat 18th August |
Blackpool v Leeds United | Tue 21st August |
Peterborough United v Leeds United | Sat 25th August |
September 2012 | |

Leeds United v Hull City | Tue 18th September |

All of the fixtures are of course subject to change as organisations up and down the country worry about hosting Leeds United. There are no easy games in the Championship and the home clash with Huddersfield on the 16th March will see the return of Simon Grayson to Elland Road. Not only that but our Yorkshire neighbours always gave us a tough game when the two sides were in League One. The home tie with Bolton Wanderers will also be a key fixture in my opinion as it spells the end of the busy Christmas period, should United come out of that period with a few wins, they should be a good position going into the final few months of the season. Neil Warnock won promotion with QPR away at Watford so with United's last game of the season being away at Watford, is that an omen? Perhaps not but If United are to win promotion, the former Sheffield United boss could once again be celebrating at Vicarage Road.
We now know the fixtures for Leeds United's next campaign, Neil Warnock now needs to squeeze some money out of Ken Bates if he is to have a team good enough to beat Wolves in the first game of the season which is only two months today.
