It's a story that could send shivers down the spine of any fan, of any club, in any country.
We're just two days away from the final game of the season and I fully expected the 'Alan Smith seen in at the Hilton' rumours to start on Monday morning, along with the rest of the players.
Last night, thanks to Skysports, we were greeted to the laughable rumour that Diouf was on his way to Elland Road.
The question is, how realistic is the transfer?
On being told the news, I didn't allow a friend of mine to finish the name of Diouf before shouting him down. Leeds United and El Hadji Diouf? An oxymoron if ever I saw one.
The man in fact the 'little weed' is a joke to society never mind football. Every Tweet or Facebook status tells the story. Leeds United fans DO NOT WANT DIOUF.
According to Skysports, Diouf is in Warnock's plans for the summer makeover set to start in a week or two. Diouf has just been relegated with Doncaster Rovers, but his contract expires in the summer.
This morning in his pre-match conference Warnock refused to answer the speculation as confirmed on Twitter by Yorkshire Radio reporter Thom Kirwin.
#lufc presser this morning. NW wouldn't rule out or confirm he'd be interested in signing El-Hadji Diouf.

I know Warnock has refused to say no or yes, but I can honestly say I don't believe any of it. Yes his refusal to say no will spread more rumours, but Diouf wouldn't settle in the Leeds squad, especially with Ross McCormack. The pair had a bit of a tiff when we played Donny at home.
We all know about Diouf's past:
- spitting at numerous fans and players.
- Charged with motoring offences.
- Taunting injured players - Jamie Mackie and his broken leg.
- As well as arrests and fines.
Safe to say then he's a bit of a dick.
So despite the speculation I can't see it happening and I don't want it to happen. It's a signing that would divide the team and club, in a time when we need to be united. Warnock might have denied to comment but he also said this back in 2011, not a chance he will go back on this...I hope!
