Cardiff City vs Leeds United: Betting Preview

Yet again another difficult game for Leeds United as they travel to Wales to face play-off chasing Cardiff City.

The team at thatagoal.com have once again previewed our game, with another great preview I'm sure you'll all agree.

As I've said in a few pieces this week the only thing we can look forward to is our new squad...if it does happen. Lets hope the Whites can try and spoil the Cardiff play-off party and then of course make sure Kasper Schmeichel and Jermaine Beckford have terrible games next week.

Enjoy the preview, and for a more detailed preview see Ciaran's from earlier with team news and danger men. Join us tomorrow for the game-thread and match report.

Leeds United take their army of fans to the Cardiff City Stadium for a lunch-time kick-off on Saturday looking to finish their turbulent Championship season with a final flourish.

With the play-off places now out of reach for Leeds following a run of just one win and four defeats in their last five matches, the season could peter out into apparent insignificance but the chances of this happening are slim.

Cardiff are strong favourites with Betfred to win the match at odds of 8/11. The draw is 13/5 and Leeds are the outsiders at 4/1.

Cardiff are hanging on to their play-off place with three wins in their last four matches and a win here would confirm their place in the end of season show-piece so if the incentive to beat Leeds wasn’t big enough, knowing three points would make their season certainly is. Saying that, Cardiff’s home form is very unspectacular with their recent home win ending a run of eight games on the bounce without victory.

Cardiff’s home games and Leeds away games are almost always low scoring affairs with less than three goals scored so a bet on under 2.5 goals at Evens with bet365 should be an easy way to double your money.

As Cardiff are favourites backing them to win seems to make sense, (sorry Leeds fans!), so consider bets on Cardiff to win 1-0 at 13/2 or Cardiff to win 2-0 at 15/2 with William Hill.

If you think Leeds can keep it tight until the break the match to be a draw at half-time is 13/10 with bet365 with a half-time 0-0 score line priced at 21/10 with Sky Bet.

Cardiff’s Kenny Miller is the favourite to score first in the match at 9/2 while Ross McCormack is favourite of the Leeds players at 8/1. For those who fancy a more adventurous punt Danny Pugh is 28/1 chance to score the first goal of the match.
