Before Jen's match report later tonight I just thought I'd mention a few things that rather bugged me while watching that utter drivel earlier this afternoon.
Once again we were terrible and I mean terrible. The atmosphere was terrible, the tactics were non-exsistent and we never got going. In fact going would be a nice way to put it, certain members of the team might as well have stayed in bed.
Thankfully all talk of play-offs can end now. We need the 2012 season to start ASAP. We need a new squad, a massive clear out and I really hope Warnock gets some cash to spend.
So below are a few brief thoughts of mine from today:
- We could really do with a whole new back four and maybe a goalkeeper. Some more CM's and ah screw it an entirely new squad apart from 5/6 players.
- Andy Lonergan can't kick very well and his distribution is woeful which follows on from my earlier point ^.
- Our tactics were terrible. Route one all day long with Watford handling it with ease especially with Martin Taylor the Giant of the Championship (alongside Zigic) in the middle of the defence. The ball should have been kept on the floor and played in behind for McCormack and co to chase.
- The players looked like they gave up as the minutes ticked on, almost as if they know the season is over.
- Luciano Becchio really needs to grow some nuts and stop falling over all the time.
- Ramon Nunez was our most direct player going forward after only playing twenty minutes...what does that tell you?
