Huddersfield Town vs Leeds United: Betting Preview

George Dempsey picks out the best bets for our clash vs Huddersfield Town.

Leeds United travel to face Huddersfield in a 12.30 kick off tomorrow lunch time. Leeds are priced at 2/1 (3.00) with Bet Victor, the draw at 13/5 (3.58) with Pinnacle bookmakers and the home win at 6/4 (2.55) with Bet Victor.

Leeds have picked up somewhat under new ownership, having won their last two games against Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

After a strong first quarter of the season that saw Huddersfield go unbeaten in 7 games and pick up many wins at home, they've since struggled to find any rhythm and have looked inconsistent.

They've now won once in the last five games, a 1-0 away win thanks to a Jermaine Beckford strike against a poor Barnsley side.

After wins against two top three sides in the space of four days, the pleasing aspect from our point of view is that our form has felt false all along. It’s a much stronger group of players than last year with what I believe much more depth than Warnock lets on.

Play it down all he wants, he’s done the same all along at QPR and other promotion bound clubs. Inside, I think he’ll have been disappointed with our awful run, waiting for our real quality to show through.

With Huddersfield, however, I think they’re true to their word. They’re still finding their feet a little bit and their form is very up and down, and will be for most of the season.

So far this season they've not beaten a top 10 team, and if our form has changed and we’re going to put in the same performance once again I can’t see them over turning this Leeds team. Draw no bet is priced at 6/5 (2.19) with Betdaq.

Along with that trail of thought and the habit of their being early goals in Leeds United games this season, I think the opening 20 minutes will be played at an extremely fast pace and neither team will look very settled or control, and I’m thinking it’s going to lead to a goal.

As much as I think Huddersfield will score, both teams may score than once and at any point in the game, I’m going to say Leeds will net in the first half.

I've gone against us in every game lately and it’s because it’s been the smart thing to do in terms of betting and winning money. Now, I think we’re worth backing for a little stretch.

Leeds to score in the first half @ 11/10 (2.10) with William Hill is far too big a price considering Leeds are in better form, the form of Becchio and added influence of Jerome Thomas and the fact that both sides could have quite comfortably netted by half time. Also, being that I've already said I believe Leeds will win, every win we've had has come from Leeds scoring first and often earlier in the game.
