Leeds United 1 Barnsley 0 - Man of the Match Poll

Whilst not the greatest performance, it's the win that counts. But who was the stand out performer for the Whites against Barnsley

Leeds United beat Barnsley for the first time in the League since 1998 on Saturday with a 1-0 win, Whilst it was not a vintage display, it was another hard working team effort. But for me there were three stand out performers for the man of the match award.

Tom Lees - The England U21 international is becoming a very accomplished defender. Whilst not producing blood and guts performances, his reading of the game sees him very rarely put under great pressure. On Saturday he was immaculate, barely putting a foot wrong as Barnsley heaped the pressure on late in the game.

Jason Pearce - Whilst Lees is neat and tidy, Pearce is all action. Blood and thunder challenges are part and parcel of his game and once again he produced plenty of them.

Aidy White - With Leeds under pressure in midfield and Sam Byram in a more defensive role, White was Leeds attacking outlet. After a slow start, White backed his pace to cause problems which it did. Get a final ball and he could be a superstar.
