Gradel departs for St Etienne

Leeds United have accepted a bid for winger Max Gradel from french outfit St Etienne.

Rumours were rife earlier this evening after St Etienne confirmed the deal on their official site, before any confirmation from Leeds. However less than an hour later United have confirmed that Gradel will depart Elland Road and have a medical tomorrow.

After hearing about the interest in him Gradel apparently submitted a transfer request early on Tuesday morning, in a desperate bid to return to his native France.

Although I am not surprised we have sold Gradel, it has still come as a shock with only 24 hours to go until the window shuts. I will have to wait for the dust to settle and give a better opinion on this matter, after the transfer window has shut.
