Somma ruled out for 6 months

Leeds United striker Davide Somma has been ruled out for up to six months, after he confirmed via his Twitter account that he has tore his ACL ligament.

Somma's injury saga started last week when he was spotted in Leeds city centre on crutches, when many Leeds fans presumed he was in Scotland on pre-season.

The South African international broke onto the scene last season, and was labelled the 'super-sub' for his goals from the bench. After scoring 12 in the last campaign, Leeds fans expected a big year from Somma. Now though Somma most focus his attention on being fit for the end of season run in. Leeds boss Simon Grayson is still expecting to make more additions to his squad, and a new striker could be on the agenda after this latest setback.
