Leeds United made a solid start to their pre-season campaign, with a 2-0 win against a depleted Falkirk side.
The Whites currently in Scotland as part of their warm up to the Championship season, were without Davide Somma, Luciano Becchio, Andy O'Brien and Fede Bessone. Simon Grayson handed Michael Brown his debut in a Whites shirt, the former Sheffield United hard-man started along with fellow new signing Paul Rachubka. Paddy Kisnorbo was once again at the heart of the defence, alongside Ben Parker who is looking to prove his fitness ahead of the new campaign.
Leeds took the lead in the 36th minute, when Falkirk defender Thomas Scobbie turned the ball into his own net from a Ramon Nunez cross. At the interval Grayson made six changes to his side, Alex Bruce, Leigh Bromby, Aidy White, Jonny Howson, Max Gradel and Ross McCormack all stepped off the bench to make their mark in the game.
Leeds doubled their lead shortly after half-time, Robert Snodgrass headed the ball home after some good build up play from Lloyd Sam and Aidy White.
In the final stages Max Gradel took a knock and had to come off, but Leeds saw the game out and picked up a good 2-0 win. The Whites have two days in training before facing Motherwell on Saturday.
