Sheffield United 2 - 0 Leeds United

As I said before the game, Leeds United do not like to do things the easy way. Yes Sheffield United like to scrap for victories, but Leeds should be going to Bramall Lane and coming away with three points, especially looking at the recent form of both teams.

Luciano Becchio and Barry Bannan started the match, replacing Billy Paynter and Neil Kilkenny who both dropped to the bench. Leeds' best chance in the first half fell to Max Gradel, Snodgrass found Max who could only head wide of the mark. Sheffield United dominated the opening 45 minutes and will have been disappointed to go into the break at 0-0.

The home side's disappointment didn't last long, they took the lead thanks to a Eric Lichaj own goal from Nick Montgomery's effort. Sheffield United then doubled their lead twenty minutes later, Bjorn Helge Riise was given time and space before finishing from a tight angle. It got worse for Leeds and the travelling Leeds faithful, when substitute Billy Paynter was sent off for an apparent head-butt.

Leeds have now gone two games without a goal, which is unheard of this season due to the fact that the Whites are the Championship's top scorers. Swansea and QPR were the only teams to win in the top six, but once again Leeds failed to take advantage of the results around them. Simon Grayson now has to wait two weeks until the next game, when United entertain Forest at home. Lets hope the boys will have regrouped and be and ready for a massive game against another play-off contender.
