Leeds advances in League Cup with victory

Leeds overcame Hartlepool 3-2 in League (Carling) Cup action on a Andy Robinson as time ran-out. It was a come from behind victory as Andy Monkhouse opened scoring for the visitors only two minutes into the match. Young Scot Robert Snodgrass drew the match level twelve minutes later but Hartlepool fought back with Joel Porter giving them the lead again at the thirty-third minute. Unfortunately Robert Snodgrass' day ended shortly with an injury and Jermaine Beckford came in. Twenty-two minutes after the break Enoch Showunmi scooped up a loose ball and once again the match was level. With a victory in sight, Gary McAllister called upon Fabian Delph and Luciano Becchio in an effort to push forward for the go ahead goal. After a number of close calls and time running out, Andy Robinson struck to give Leeds the 3-2 victory.
