and now Scunthorpe United

The pre-season came to a fitting close for Leeds at Elland Road with a 4-0 romp over Belgium squad, FCV Dender. Now with the friendlies neatly tucked-away we can get on to the meat of the matter, the chase for promotion is one with Leeds firmly trying to match last seasons total of ninety-one points (adjusted back with the point-deduction). There is no disputing it, the goal is automatic promotion and there is no room for squandering points.

While the newly commissioned sharp-shooter, our number 10, Luciano Becchio sat-out with a modest injury, it was a simple pre-cautionary move in lieu of next weeks encounter. Leeds showed a more aggressive attack experimenting with the young Scot Robert Snodgrass in a attacking midfield role and quite obviously, the squad came out today to win positions. Paul Huntington hit for a brace (24, 86) with Rui Marques (28) Beck's (34) rounding-out the scoring. A great afternoon but it's time to wipe the slate clean of the pre-season and get on to the task at hand. It's time for business!
