The final nil-score draw against League Two Darlington is somewhat indicative of a quiet, uninspired encounter. Of note, Jermaine Beckford returned to action after a short spell injured and new signing Robert Snodgrass saw his first action for Leeds, narrowly missing a header into the net. For the most part, excluding a brief encounter Leeds was held in check with Darlington coming close near the end of the match.
Of note is the midfield lineup of Jonny Howson and Fabian Delph. With the continued growth of each, I'm expecting a lot of clubs considering a move. This Saturday's friendly against Belgian squad FCV Dender at Elland Road will be critical in the final tune-up stage before season starts.
