Marching on Together: Walsall match preview

As Walsall visits Elland Road today, Gary McAllister has placed an premium on defense and tightening up the clubs liability to the counter-attack. With Paul Telfer healthy, we can expect him to return to the back-line with Aidan White, Frazer Richardson and Lubomir Michalik rounding out and David Lucas maintaining his role as number one. Given Gary McAllister's commentary we're likely to see Neil Kilkenny and Jonathan Douglas in the midfield, bookended by Jonny Howson or Robert Snodgrass with Fabian Delph in the wings serving up to the striking tandem of Jermaine Beckford and Luciano Becchio.

Walsall will be without Sofiene Zaaboub and are hopeful skipper Stephen Hughes will pass a match-fitness test. The Saddlers are a prolific scoring club and will pose many problems to the Leeds defenders.

In addressing the match Paul Telfer commented:

"Walsall are the visitors on Saturday and the manager says he is expecting the Saddlers to go on the offensive. Walsall will be handful because they will want to beat us," he said. "It's Leeds. And teams want to beat Leeds and win here, but we don't want to drop off the pace. Three or four results can take you right up there."

Enjoy the match, I will report on it when it concludes but until then "We're Marching on Together"
