In front of a crowd of twenty-two thousand plus at Elland Road, Leeds easily defeated Brighton 3-1. While in control of much of the first half, the first goal didn't come till Luciano Becchio scored from close range a minute before the break when he picked up the rebound of his first shot and sent it to the back of the net. Leeds doubled the lead in rapid fire fashion with Fabian Delph crossing to Jermaine Beckford deep into added time. While Leeds pushed to seal the match off after the break, the score remained 2-0 till the ninetieth minute when Fabian Delph fed Jermaine Beckford for his second goal of the match. With time winding down Brighton Glenn Murray added a consolation goal for the visitors to bring the score to 3-1 conclusion. The match was marked with dreadful challenge of Aiden White by Steve Thomson with fourteen minutes left that led to a major skirmish between the clubs.
Leeds returns to action next Saturday in a brilliant mash-up against Millwall.
