Leicester City 1 - 1 Leeds United: Manager Reaction

Warnock: Frustrated - Michael Regan

Neil Warnock was disappointed with the officials after watching Leicester snatch a point at the King Power Stadium last night.

Sam Byram opened the scoring for the Whites with a terrific strike and it appeared to put Leeds on course for all three points, but a Michael Keane header in the fourth minute of added time, salvaged a point for Nigel Pearson’s side.

"Everyone was so disappointed in the dressing room," said the boss on the official site. "We felt it so unjust. There were so many controversial decisions in the last 10 minutes of the game.

"The last time I felt like this I got fined a lot of money so I'm not going to say what I think, but it's disappointing.

"We thought there was foul by Schmeichel on Tom Lees, David Norris was fouled on the edge of the box in front of the referee, and the foul throw that he gave to Stephen Warnock…we've got three others for Leicester that haven't been penalised. You have to ask where the consistency is.

Leeds had their tails up after opening the scoring in the second half, but couldn’t find a second goal that would have guaranteed a happy trip back up north for the Whites.

"I thought we played well against a team who have spent a lot of money and have a big wage bill, and we played some good football. We should have so many more points than we have, but the lads are working as hard as they can" admitted Warnock.

This is not the first time Leeds have conceded late goals away from home. Last night, Boro and Wolves just to name a few, but if Leeds could have held on in those games they would have been five points better off and in with a real shout of reaching the play-offs.

However, they sit six points off the pack ahead of another tough away trip on Saturday with most fans resigned to another season in the Championship. Last season 75 points was what 6th place finished on, so Leeds need to pick up at least 25 points from a possible 33 to climb into the play-offs.

"You need a bit of a rub of the green, and if we get a free-kick in those last few minutes the game is over so it's disappointing. Yes, Steve Morison lost his man for the goal, but there were so many things in the build-up that didn't go our way.

"It's just so disappointing."

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson praised his player’s spirit after bouncing back from Saturdays defeat to Ipswich to earn a point against the Whites.

"Things don’t always go the way you want them to, but I’m pleased with the desire of the players to get something out of the game." Said the manager on the official site

"I think the players deserved it to be honest with you. It was a tough game for us, conceding an early goal in the second half, and they made it difficult for us."

Paddy Kenny made a number of key saves to keep the Foxes at bay for over 90 minutes but was helpless against Michael Keane’s header in the 94th minute.

"We worked the goalkeeper. He has made some very good saves, and they made some good blocks in the second half at which point it looked like it probably wasn’t going to go for us, but we persevered and got something out of the game, and that’s a good illustration of what it takes.

"The players deserved something out of the game tonight there’s no doubt about that.

"We hung in there and our players showed some good spirit. There are always going to be people who are not happy but I’ll stick by my players and I know they’ll get on with it."
